Shireen Shahnavaz holds a Master’s degree in Security Studies from University College London, and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Royal Holloway, University of London. Her studies focussed on politics and policy within the Middle East, the origins of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and issues surrounding international peace and security. Other research interests include: the advantages and disadvantages of liberal peacebuilding, post-conflict resolution, human rights and terrorism. Shireen has previously volunteered with a human rights organisation promoting the rights of asylum seekers and victims of torture. She has also volunteered at a diplomatic consultancy aiming to build stronger ties between governments and civil society.
