There are several factors effecting the security of global energy resources, including oil and other fossil fuel depletion, reliance on foreign sources of energy, geopolitics, energy needs of poorer countries, and the demands from advancing developing countries such as China and India, economic efficiency versus population growth, environmental issues, and renewable energy.
